An early 19th C Toile de Jouy sourced in Paris. This type of fine cotton fabric was crafted with etched copper plates and a complex dying process that took months to complete. The fabric is a light blue on an off white background depicting the simple life of the country. The textile itself is in quite good condition for it’s age. Note the intact center unmatch seam. A seam unmatched to the pattern repeat dates the fabric to the early part of the 19th Century.
